Babe to Order

It was in a future where people no longer had children by birth. Instead they were created in labs. People would file to be parents, and if granted, then a child would be formed for them, using the characteristics that were wanted. There wasn't any families really either, just groups of people that cohabited together.

I watched as one child was being created. It was nearby where other child bodies, without heads, were actually being grown in lab like containers and many were used just for their tissues and organs and the remains destroyed.

I woke with a sinking feeling in my gut.
